Working with Providence Healthcare was an invigorating experience as the c lass worked to create and develop rituals to help the St. Paul's transition from their present location and long held identity to their new hospital where the weight of transition can lose the history of this historic hospital and Healthcare organization. I would welcome the opportunity to take future classes through other projects Providence might have as they continue looking to the future and preserving their history and future focus simultaneously.

Working on this project has been an insightful and engaging experience, highlighting the importance of leadership transitions and the role that structured farewell initiatives play in preserving organizational culture. The process of developing comprehensive Memory Books, Ceremonial Transfers of Mission Artifacts, and Gratitude Circles showcased the depth of appreciation that organizations have for their leaders and the intentionality behind maintaining institutional values.
One of the most valuable aspects of this project was integrating research-backed principles into each section. By incorporating evidence from leadership studies, organizational psychology, and change management, we ensured that the proposed initiatives are not just emotionally meaningful but also strategically impactful. The use of references from scholars like Bridges, Kotter, and Schein strengthened the framework, reinforcing best practices in succession planning, knowledge transfer, and employee engagement.
Another key takeaway was the importance of customization every organization has its own unique culture, and the approaches outlined here can be adapted to fit different industries and leadership styles. The collaborative nature of this work emphasized the significance of inclusivity, where employees, stakeholders, and community members all play a role in honoring leadership transitions.
Overall, working on this project has been a rewarding experience, allowing for a deep dive into the psychology of change, workplace appreciation, and legacy-building. It has reinforced the idea that saying goodbye is not merely about closure but about continuity ensuring that the wisdom, values, and contributions of leaders remain woven into the organization’s fabric for years to come.

My experience working on this project with St. Paul’s Hospital was truly rewarding. Visiting the hospital, I was struck by how rich its culture and mission are, with staff who are incredibly friendly and supportive. It was inspiring to see how deeply the values are embedded in everyday work. Contributing to the mission culture transfer project gave me a deeper appreciation for the hospital’s commitment to compassionate care, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of it.
